March 28, 2007:

Today is the first day of the Spring 2007 quarter and it is also the last quarter of my residency as an undergraduate at UC Davis. I have petitioned to graduate at the end of this quarter, which will be approximately June 15. Also, I have been formally accepted to all of the graduate schools to where I have applied. I have until April 15 to decide. For more information about what scholastic details this quarter holds for me, please refer to schedule in the About Me page on this site.

Winter Quarter Begins:
January 3rd marks the first day of instruction for the Winter 2007 quarter. Some of my classes have changed due to scheduling discrepancies and academic goals. For instance, I have opted to not take Environmental Toxicology 120 (ETX 120): Aquatic Toxicology, because the Environmental Science and Policy class of ESP 160: Environmental Policy and Decision Making is being presented by Paul Sabatier. Clearly this is a great opportunity to learn from a master of policy and theory. Also by attending a class more suited to my pursuits in public policy, I can increase my ability to be a more effective mitigator when I enter the professional market.

In other news, I am in the process of putting the final touches on my poster presentation for the USDA's Fourth Greenhouse Gas Conference on February 8th in Baltimore Maryland. Upon completion of the presentation, I shall post a copy of the poster on this site. So, please look for it near the end of February.

December 18, 2006:
Fall Quater Ends.
December 15th marks the end of the fall quarter and the beginning of the holiday break. The above photo is the class of ETX 131 for the fall of 2006 taught by Dr. Norman Kado of the California Air Resources Board. Other classes taken last quarter are Environmental Toxicology 135 - Risk Assessment - taught by Dr. Ruby Reed of the California EPA, Dept. of Pesticide Regulation and Hydrology 198 - independent study of Hydrogeology - guided by Dr. Graham Fogg.

The fall quarter was more than just instructional. Late in the quarter, shortly after Thanksgiving, I finalized my decision to attend graduate school. I took the GRE on December 4th and applied to UC Berkeley on December 15th for a 2-year concurrent Master's program in Public Policy and Environmental Engineering. UC Davis graduate applications are not due until January 15th of 2007.
